Le Moulin de Nanteuil is a small B&B in a beautifully restored 15th century mill in the small village of Migne-Auxances, just outside of Poitiers, only one hour and 15 minutes by frequent high speed train from Montparnasse Station in Paris. The Moulin has four architecturally refined rooms, and offers a delicious complimentary breakfast featuring fresh fruit, cheese, French pastries, and local specialties. It also sports a large terrace and garden on the banks of the Auxances river available for guests to enjoy. Come have a glass of champagne or local wine with us out on the terrace! We can provide a plate of local charcuterie to accompany your aperitif, or even dinner upon request.
You will enjoy the famed French hospitality and individualized service, courtesy of your host Jerôme Pierik. Don’t speak much French? No worries, Jerôme speaks at least four languages (French, English, Dutch, German) and will be fully at your service to ensure you are well-cared for during your stay. For the Games the Moulin will provide a shuttle to and from the main train station for easy access to Paris.
The Moulin also is well-located (one hour and 10 minutes’ drive) from La Rochelle, where the Olympic sailing competition will occur. Train service is also available to La Rochelle.
Should you want to sightsee in Atlantic France there is lots to see nearby. The lovely and historic city of Poitiers is just 15 minutes away. Numerous places for day trips are also close, including (among a long list) the chateaux of the Loire valley, the UNESCO world heritage site of L’Abbaye Saint-Savin, Ile de Re, and the city of Bordeaux with its surrounding wine country. Jerôme would be happy to help you formulate your itinerary.
